About Us

In 2010 the Mt. Victory United Methodist church hosted a 5K as a fundraiser for church missions.  We were put in charge of organizing this event.  As we were organizing the race: lining up sponsors, medals, t-shirts, we were also trying to figure out the best and most cost effective way to record the participant’s time as they crossed the finish line.

Since Myles is a runner and has participated in numerous 5Ks himself, he also knew that one of the greatest downsides to 5Ks is the incredible wait before the results are read.  We soon discovered the most efficient and accurate way to calculate results would be with software.  However, after extensive internet research, we discovered that the only software we could find was way out of the race budget.  Along with the help of Steve, a computer programmer, we began development of a timer that would also display race results that would be easy to use and reliable.

The 5k was a tremendous success and the results were available immediately after the last participant crossed the finish line. Following the race, several participants commented on how we were able to calculate the results so quickly and whether they could get a copy of what we were using to record the results at their race.  It was then that discussions between Myles, Steve, and Tiffany, the designer, began about the possibility of turning this project into a fully developed, user configurable product and thus began “The Victory Timer”.....
